Marine Pilot Zanger

On December 5, 1944, U. S. Marine Corps (USMC) fighter pilot 1st Lt. Moszek “Mike/Murray” Zanger from Marine Fighting Squadron 222 (VMF-222) “Flying Deuces” suffered an aerial collision over New Britain. Damaged, he bailed out and became a Prisoner Of War (POW) until his death in July 1945.
